Adjustable power glasses

Published by admin under Science and technology

A British scientist has designed a unique pair of glasses that can be adjusted by a wearer without any opticians help and, one million pairs of which will soon be distributed to all parts of the world. These self-adjusting glasses are designed in such a way that they can be ‘tuned’ by the wears to suit their eyes, and that to without the need for a prescription. In fact, the spectacles can help both short-righted and long-righted people. Using the principle, “thicker lenses are more powerful than thin ones”, the inventors designed spectacles that can be adjusted by injuecting tiny quantities of fluid.

Wow Robots…

Published by admin under Science and technology

Robot to defuse roadside bombs in war zones. You can say it’s straight from a science fiction, but scientists are on track to develop in reality a robot which they claim can be used by british army to defuse deadly roadside bombs in war zones. Bomb disposal troops, well away from the device, will wear a cyber glove linked remotely to the robot which will copy their hand movements to defuse an explosive according to the british scientists. The limb is manoeuvred by 20 tiny motors and is so sensitive that it can even tenderly handle soft fruit without leaving a mark. “The benefits are obvious and a lot of people are very excited by this piece of kit. Bomb disposal is one of the most dangerous hobs in the world and anything that takes the human out of that situation is of major interest,” a senior military source was quoted by the ‘News of the world’ as saying. In fact, britain’s ministry of defense began testing the robo-hand, made by the shadow robot company, six months ago and it could be in service in Afghanistan’s dangerous helmand province as soon as next year.

Wow…‘perfect fits’

Published by admin under Science and technology

Last week i heard a nice news, especially for women looking to buy ‘perfectly fitting’ clothes, there is good news. A company has created body scanning technology that can help buy clothes to fit women’s shape exactly. The state-of-the-art software uses data from body scanners to produce clothes that apparently fit women’s shape exactly on the high street. Now customers can record their body shape in 3D at ‘scanning outlets’ and then choose outfits online which will be fitted to their shape, the Daily Express reported. Innova, the company behind the creation, said it has spent nine years developing the technology, which it said will revolutionize the way women dress. Patrick Gardner, founder of the company, said his firm’s clothes are a “radical alternative” to traditional fashion. “There are no bulk stock orders, no unsold stock, no teams of sales staff and no retail units, just body-scanning outlets. Fashion has gone simple,” he was quoted as saying by the British tabloid. so here after we will get a perfect fits for us, then very one will say to us wow you are looking great.Get ready for have this comments.

New sensors

Published by admin under Science and technology

I was watching news in tv, I heard some new technology was developing by Scientists at queen’s university Belfast, regarding sensors to detect chemical agents and illegal drugs within seconds, which will help in the fight against terror attacks. I was happy to hear that, it helps to save lot of souls. The devices will use special gel pads to ‘swipe’ an individual or crime scene to gather a sample which is then analyzed by a scanning instrument that can detect the presence of chemicals within second. This will allow better, faster decisions to be made in response to terrorist threats. The scanning instrument will use Raman Spectroscopy which involves shining a laser beam onto the suspected sample and measuring the energy of light that scatters from it to determine what chemical compound is present. It is so sophisticated that it can measure particles of a miniscule scale making detection faster and more accurate.

Wow PC can read our mind

Published by admin under Science and technology

We all are know about telepathy, it is done by using power of thoughts but reading another person’s brain signals is it possible. University of Southampton, UK scientists are experimented that, brain-to-brain communication, using brain-to-computer interface technology (BCI). The experiment involved two people who were attached to an EEG or electroencephalograph amplifier, two computers, an internet connection, and one LED lamp. The first person was asked to transfer his thoughts through a computer. He was asked to move his arm, meaning he had to think “moves my arm.” His thoughts were translated into computer language, which consists of a series of binary digits, zeros and ones. When the second computer received the signals sent via the ‘net, the second person saw flashing LED lights. The first person’s thoughts were transferred through these light patterns. The patterns were matched with the binary digits. Much of the world boasts several methods of reading brain signals, but brain-to-computer interface is still in the early stages and commercially unavailable in anywhere else.

3rd generation

Published by admin under Science and technology

Recent days I heard the word 3G technology. But I don’t know anything about that. I wished to know about that technology. My brother is the Electronic Engineer, so I asked to him about that. He explained me, I m very interested to share that to my readers. Shell we start, International Mobile Telecommunications-2000 (IMT-2000), better known as 3G or 3rd Generation. The first pre-commercial 3G network was launched by NTT DoCoMo in Japan branded FOMA, in May 2001 on a pre-release of W-CDMA technology. The first European pre-commercial network was at the Isle of Man by Manx Telecom, the operator then owned by British Telecom, and the first commercial network in Europe was opened for business by Telenor in December 2001 with no commercial handsets and thus no paying customers. These were both on the W-CDMA technology. The first commercial United States 3G network was by Monet Mobile Networks, on CDMA2000 1x EV-DO technology, but this network provider later shut down operations. The second 3G network operator in the USA was Verizon Wireless in October 2003 also on CDMA2000 1x EV-DO, and this network has grown strongly since then.

Bio-pesticides and Insecticides

Published by admin under Science and technology

It helps us to manufacture natural organic foods. If we use the artificial pesticides and insecticides few chemical substances remain as such and cause severe effects in human being and in animals. These artificial chemicals will affect the biodiversity. In cost wise also these chemicals are expensive. But these bio-pesticides and insecticides are cheap and do not cause any harmful efforts. Now a day’s many developed countries giving importance to these bio pesticides and insecticides. Many harmful substances are used in some countries in excess amount which has been eradicated in developed countries. Bacterial Pesticides are also being developed (even though they are slow in action and are expensive) and a company in U.S.A with the name Ecogen Inc.
